Weekly Four-Skill English Challenge: Week 8 – Ordering a Flight Ticket

Welcome to Week 8 of the Weekly Four-Skill English Challenge!

This week, you’ll learn the English you need to book a flight and make travel arrangements. Whether you’re travelling within Canada, visiting family abroad, or planning a holiday, knowing how to ask about flights, understand travel information, and communicate your needs can make travelling easier and less stressful.

In this challenge, you’ll practise all four English skills through realistic travel situations. You’ll listen to a conversation about booking a flight, practise asking about flight times and prices, read information about booking a flight, and write about a trip you would like to take. Along the way, you’ll learn useful vocabulary such as departure, arrival, destination, baggage, boarding pass, one-way ticket, return ticket, and flight.

By the end of this week’s challenge, you’ll be able to:

  • understand common conversations about booking flights and making travel arrangements;
  • use everyday vocabulary related to air travel with greater confidence;
  • ask about flight times, prices, destinations, and baggage;
  • explain your travel dates and preferences when booking a flight;
  • understand basic information about flights, tickets, and the booking process; and
  • communicate confidently when making travel arrangements in English.

Download the printable worksheet, complete the activities at your own pace, and continue building your English one week at a time!
